Moving a Tree

Neat
Most people bring things from their old home into their new home (if they didn’t, we wouldn’t have jobs). Your old stuff is good. It’s your stuff. You probably like a lot of it. And, it’ll be a comfort in your new house or apartment, making it feel a little more familiar, more homelike.
In the past we’ve talked about actually bringing plants, both garden and potted, to your new home. Today, I’m going to tell you that that’s small game. Flowers and tomatoes? Psht, that’s nothing. How about a tree? Yeah, that’s right, you can bring your tree with you to your new home. And, there are movers who specialize in doing this.
Tree movers use a device called a tree spade to dig out and scoop up the tree, roots and all. They’ll prepare a spot (dig a hole) for it in your new yard, and, after driving the tree there, plant it. Tree movers often offer post-transplant care options as well, helping to make sure the tree really takes root in its new environment.
