If you have a motorcycle and you need to move, then, logically, you’ll need to move your motorcycle. While you could always drive it to your new home, this isn’t always possible, especially when moving a long distance. Unless you don’t mind riding your motorcycle to your new home with a bunch of cardboard boxes strapped to your back (please don’t do this), you’ll have to find a way to relocate your bike.

One of the best ways is to rent a trailer that is specially designed for the purpose of moving motorcycles. (If you need to rent a truck anyway for your move, you can kill two birds with one stone and get them at the same place.) These special trailers come with wheel chocks and heavy-duty straps to make sure your machine won’t get banged around during the move.

Surprisingly, you could also put the motorcycle inside the moving truck, but, this can be more risky. First of all, you’d have to completely remove all the gas from the fuel tank. Secondly, you’ll have to really secure it into place. One method is to put it between two mattresses to keep it well padded. (If doing this, it would be a good idea to invest in some plastic mattress covers.)

Our final option for transporting motorcycles is to hire professionals to do it for you. If you decide to go this route, you’ll want to look into special movers to handle your prized motorcycle.
