Automobile Shipping

This is not a car.

This is not a car.

So you’ve got a way to transport all of your belongings from your old home to your new home, except one big thing: your car. That’s not gonna fit into the back of a truck and you know it. You might just wish you could wave your hand and POOF, your car would appear in front of your new house. Slow down, Harry Potter. Why don’t you try an automobile mover instead (since that other thing probably isn’t going to happen)?

There are three basic types of automobile moves. These are them:

• Open-Air Trailer - Last time you were on the highway, you avoided driving behind one of these: ten bucks. Just as the name suggests, your car will be stacked on an open-air trailer and exposed to the open air as it is transported. Affordable and safe, but probably not the best solution for that vintage Jaguar that you never take out of the garage.

• Enclosed Trailer - Get one of these for your Jag. This service provides the highest level of safety and protection for your car.

• Drive-Away Service - This is like hiring a professional chauffeur to drive no one. Except himself. So it’s not technically shipping, but your car will get there without you having to drive it. The least expensive, but also least safe service, as you car is exposed to the elements as well as the human factors of the driver and other people on the road.

As with any moving company, make sure you are dealing with licensed, insured movers with a good track record. For more information on this topic, read our guide.
