This is it! For the first time, Movers.com has news from outer space. Aliens, using Movers.com approved moving companies, have settled into their new home on the moon, overlooking the beautiful Sea of Tranquility… just kidding. But seriously, this news is from space.

MSNBC reported last week that astronauts, aboard space shuttle Discovery, delivered a new module/moving van to the International Space Station (INSS). The module, named “Leonardo,” is approximately 21 feet long, 15 feet wide, and weighs over 27,000 pounds.

Leonardo includes a bunch of new stuff for the astronauts stationed at the INSS including several racks of new science experiments, each about the size of a doublewide fridge.  There’s also a new astronaut bedroom. Nothing like having your new bedroom delivered to you in space.

Another interesting piece of technology, included in the delivery, is a device that will create water for the station’s crew, using waste carbon dioxide and hydrogen gases. According to science, water is important to living and is hard to come by in space.
