“Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.”
- Groucho Marx

I have always loved this quote from everyone’s favorite Marx brother. While some may agree that it’s clever and witty, others may think it’s just a corny pun. Some people might even miss the joke entirely. Either way, I thought it was especially fitting to center a Friday Thought about it.

It definitely seems as though time is flying. As I write the Top Ten List every Friday, it seems likes like only a day has passed since I wrote the last one, rather than a week. The summer is definitely flying by too; I can’t believe that this is the last day of July already.

The second part of the quote is also pretty relevant. A lot of people are now overrun with fruit flies. While fruit flies may like bananas, they also like any other fruit or vegetable. I heard you can stop the problem by leaving a cup of vinegar on the counter. The flies swoop down to investigate it, then drown. Anyone have any other ideas for getting rid of them?
