Over the last decade, more and more people had been buying houses at the shore to use as their main residences, rather than just vacation homes. The main group buying houses in the shore region was comprised of baby boomers looking to downsize by getting a smaller home near the shore. The other group that had been increasingly buying homes at the shore was families with young children.
This year, however, things are different. Due to the recession, less people are buying homes at the shore, which means that people are having a hard time selling their homes.
