Are you looking to relocate somewhere? Why not try one of the places in CNN/Money Magazine’s recently released list of the best towns to live in. The list names the 100 best towns throughout the United States, based on criteria such as education, crime rates, and median income. Let’s take a closer look at the towns that made the top ten.
1. Louisville, Colorado - This town of 18,800 residents is a suburb of Denver. Before being declared the best town in the United States, Louisville served as a small mining community but experienced labor violence in the 1950s when the local mines were closed. That is all part of the town’s history, as anyone moving to Louisville nowadays can take advantage of its low taxes, good healthcare, and proximity to ski resorts and other activities in the Rocky Mountains.
2. Chanhassen, Minnesota - Those who don’t mind cold winter weather may consider relocating to Chanhassen, the second-best town. This Twin City suburb of 23,700 has been relatively unaffected by the economy and has a low unemployment rate and decreasing property taxes. If you move to Chanhassen, you can also enjoy several parks as well as 11 of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes.
3. Papillion, Nebraska - While this Nebraska town of 22,200 residents might not be the most exciting place to live, it claims both a strong economy and affordable housing. The town also boasts plenty of open space (which means very little traffic) and an unemployment rate that is half the national average. Papillion is currently undergoing a revitalization of its downtown.
4. Middleton, Wisconsin - Though only six miles from the state capital, Middleton offers plenty of attractions itself, including a 1,000 acre network of parks, trails for running and skiing, and bike paths. Middleton’s 16,900 residents also enjoy a stable economy, as the town’s main employers are the state government and the University of Wisconsin.
5. Milton, Massachusetts - This Boston suburb is home to 25,400 people who enjoy a low unemployment rate and very few home foreclosures. Milton has plenty of its own attractions, such as a lot of parks and playgrounds and historic homes. Additionally, the crime rate is very low. Those who want to experience more of city life can take a trolley to the Boston subway system. (next page)

I like CNN/Money Magazine. Thanks for sharing the list of the best towns to live in. If I have a right to choose among them I would give a preference to Papillion, Nebraska.
