Ask the Movers Team: Three Pods in Sacramento

“I have three Pods containers in storage in Sacramento and I want to move my stuff to Mendocino, CA, a non-service area for Pods. Is there a solution to this problem short of delivering them to my house in Sacramento, unpacking, and having a moving company pack them again and move them?”
-Nick from California
Despite the 188 miles that separate Mendocino and Sacramento, there is a solution to your moving conundrum.
Being as though you can’t move the Pods to your desired destination (Mendocino), you’re going to have to unpack whatever’s inside those storage units and move that instead. So leave the Pods where they are; we’ll come back to them later.
The first thing you’ll need to do is find a full service mover that does long hauls. Under the Movers.com “Free Long Distance Moving Quote Form” fill out the necessary information and sit tight. In about an hour or so you’ll hear back from several different companies.
Now, because your move is long distance and still intrastate (being over a hundred miles within the same state), there are a few things you may want to consider. First, there is a lot that can happen in those nearly two-hundred miles. Think about getting insurance for anything you transport that is of value to you. Secondly, because this is a big move, take some time to compare the quotes that you’ve been given.
Once you’ve picked your mover, explain to them that you’d like a Full Service, Long Distance Move. They’ll handle the rest from there. After all of the goods have been removed from inside the Pods, call up the Pod company and inform them that the storage units can now be removed from the site.
I hope that answers your question. If you have anything else that you’d like to know please feel free to email us at any time.
